Here in India it is obligatory to have an insurance policy for the vehicle.
My car was not used for a long period and some defects have been found.
Our old insurance was expired during this period.
A new insurance is taken , is it permissible for me to claim money from insurance company now?

No problem If he claims to the extent of what he has paid without any addition.
