▪️Death will only be brought in the form of a ram and sacrificed once the sinful believers are removed from Hell▪️
Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam – may Allaah preserve him – was asked the following question:
The questioner says: Concerning the Hadeeth which states that on the Day of Resurrection, death will be brought in the form of a ram and slaughtered between Paradise and Hell. Does this refer to the angel of death, or is it referring to death itself; death as in the opposite of life/living?
What’s intended is death itself. Allaah – The Mighty and Majestic – will transform death into something tangible; into the form of a ram, then it will be slaughtered between Paradise and Hell; as an indication that death will become something non existent after that day, (as mentioned in the Hadeeth)
((يا أهل الجنة خلود فلا موت، ويا أهل النار خلود فلا موت))
‘O people of Paradise! For you is an everlasting life without death, and O people of Hell! for you is an everlasting life without death.’
Thereafter, death will become something non existent. So it is death itself which will be brought in the form of a ram. And the meaning is that (after the ram is slaughtered) death – after this day – will become something non existent.
This Hadeeth is from the evidences proving that the inhabitants of Hell-fire will abide therein forever.
However, this ram will only will be sacrificed once the (sinful) believers are removed from Hellfire after being chastised for their sins. So the ram will be sacrificed after the believers are removed from Hell-fire whereby there only ones who will remain therein will be the actual/rightful residents of Hell-fire; the disbelievers. That’s when the ram will be slaughtered.
Abu Ishaq Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ba ‘Alawi
