Answered by our Shaykh, the ‘Allaamah, the Sincere Adviser, Abu ‘Abdirrahman Yahya bin ‘Ali Al-Hajoori – may Allaah preserve him – on the 9th, Rajab, 1422
We seek advise for the people of Radfaan generally surrounding knowledge and brotherhood and being upon harmony, as you already know some of their problems.
I advise all of the students of knowledge to seek knowledge, and to strive and persevere in its regard
And to safeguard ones time, to make sure that time is not spent except on obedience of Allaah, from memorizing to revising, calling to Allaah, Exalted is He the Most High, and worship.
I advise them with gaining understanding in the religion of Allaah.
I advise all of the Muslims by holding on to the book of Allaah, and the Sunnah of His Messenger, and distancing from that which might disfigure a person’s nobility or causes unrest in the ranks.
For Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, said:
“And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah, and be not divided among yourselves, and remember the Favor of Allaah on you”
The reality is that we are to return to the Book of Allaah & the Sunnah of His Messenger when we differed regarding something. If we were to be like this, there wouldn’t be any differing, all praise is to Allaah.
Differing takes place when this person is turning to the Book and the Sunnah, and another has desires, or another is upon ignorance and bias.
This is how harms occur and differing take place.
I advise everyone with having Taqwa of Allaah, Exalted is He from any imperfections, the Most High, and to love each other, for the Prophet ﷺ said:
“A person visited his brother in another town and Allaah deputed an Angel to wait for him on his way and when he came to him he said: Where do you intend to go? He said: I intend to go to my brother in this town. He said: Have you done any favor to him (the repayment of which you intend to get)? He said: No, excepting that I love him for the sake of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. Thereupon he said: I am a messenger to you from, Allaah: (to inform you) that Allaah loves you as you love him (for His sake).”
While advising those that slipped or have erred, do not ignore and to leave them upon what they’re upon of mistakes and being distant, advise them if you see acceptance then good, and if you were to see him having swayed and changed… or the likes.
Then Allaah is not in need of us and him, Allaah, the Most High, said:
“He will exchange you for some other people, and they will not be your likes.” [Muhammad:38]
And it’s a must to be gentle, the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:
“Gentleness is not added to something except that it beautifies it, and is not removed from something except that it disfigures it.”
And he ﷺ said:
“Allaah is Gentle and loves gentleness, He bestows for gentleness what He doesn’t bestow for severity, and gives more for it than anything else.”
