Question:
Is there a specific number of major sins? Or is it not of a specific number?
Answer:
According to the statement of Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, it’s difficult to put it in number and restrict it to one.
And the major sins are:
➖That which is incurs a curse,
➖Or [Allaah’s] Anger,
➖Or the Prophet ﷺ said concerning it: “Not from us is he who…”,
➖Or a threat in regards to the ākhira,
➖Or a punishment in the dunyā.
