Our Shaykh Abu Bilaal Al-Hadhramy- may Allah preserve him- was asked the following question on 9th Sha’ban 1441 (2nd April 2020):
The Questioner says :
Is it permissible for the Muslims in countries in which the masājid have been closed to gather and establish the jum’ah prayer in some houses?
Answer:
They must not pray jum’ah in the houses. (Instead) they must pray dhur. This is the fatwa of our scholars of recent times.
