▪️There Will Be No Religious Obligations in Jannah▪️
Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam -may Allaah preserve him- was asked the following question:
The questioner says: You previously mentioned that Adam was taken out of the Gardens of ‘Adn (Eden Paradise), but how comes Adam was instructed not to eat from the tree in the first place when there are no religious obligations in Paradise?
There won’t be any religious obligations in the Hereafter, however, at that time, Allah instructed Adam not to do so.
There won’t be any religious obligations upon the believers once they enter into Paradise. This is what the people of knowledge negate; they negate the presence of religious obligations (in the Hereafter).
Nonetheless, this doesn’t mean there won’t be any acts of worship whatsoever, rather the inhabitants of Paradise, individually, will all remain in a state of worship; they will be inspired to glorify and praise Allah just as you yourself are being inspired to breath.
So the inhabitants of Paradise will remain engaged in the worship of Allah the Almighty, Most High, and this worship will be among the favours Allah will bless them with; they will feel this blessing and take pleasure in this worship.
Abu Ishaq Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ba Alawi
