▪️Being overly concerned with one’s appearance may be a cause for missing all, or part of the Salaah!▪️
Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam -may Allaah preserve him- was asked the following question:
The questioner says: Some people may come late for Salah, even missing a rak’ah or two, because they spend time fixing up their ‘Imaamah (turban), and so on.
This is a mistake. It’s absolute carelessness in fact; how can one allow himself to miss out on Salaah due to (something as trivial as) tying an ‘Imaamah, or even more significant than that?
He comes partway through the Salaah, missing the start (due to this)!
These things -tying the Imaamah, combing the hair, etc.- have their appropriate times (and this isn’t one of them).
When the Mu’adhin says:
((حي على الصلاة))
It means (put everything aside and) advance towards Salaah.
