What’s the ruling on praying Istikharah regarding doing righteous actions?
??Answer:
Al-Hāfidh, ibn Hajr, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
Ibn Abu Jamrah said:
Indeed the obligatory and recommended actions there’s no Istikharah in doing the action, likewise the prohibited and disliked matters there’s no istikharah in leaving it.
So the affair is restricted to only what’s Mubāh (permissible), and in matters which are recommended if two matters were to clash; which of the two should be began with, and is sufficed with.
