Question:
Is merely receiving a paper and signing it suffice from taking and receiving the currency?
Answer:
It is a must that he receives the currency that was sent, then exchanges it to the currency that he wishes it to be in.
As for receiving a paper and the likes of this then signing it, for it to be exchanged before there is Qabdh – obtainment of the currency.
This is an exchange without Taqābudh – direct giving and receiving.
I appoint you as a representative in exchanging it for me… this is a ploy, money exchange agents are what they are…money exchange agents, they aren’t representatives for everyone.
But if he says I entrust you to exchange it on my behalf it’s would be an exit an escape route.
The money exchange agent receives it and takes it out of his inventory, then he exchanges it.
If he wishes he is the one who exchanges it or if he wishes he exchanges it from someone else.
He (the agent) receives it and then exchanges it for him, as he would receive his own money then exchange it, he doesn’t exchange it before receiving it and obtaining it, even if it’s by the one entrusted.
