Mistakes are on different levels, and having distinction in the types of opposition found with the people who oppose the truth is a must

Question:

Whenever an individual is advised by warning them from an innovator, he replies that every child of Ādam has mistakes, and that they are not infallible, how do we reply to this?

Answer:

This speech is treading upon the methodology of Muwāzinat, as a method in wanting to dismantle the disparagement of the people of desires and Fitnah, and covering the faults of innovation, and fitnah, as well as it’s people.

The fact that the children of Ādam have mistakes – except those who Allah safe guarded -.
Doesn’t mean that the mistakes of the people of desires and Fitnah, and the mistakes of the people of the Sunnah; who aspire and aim for the truth, are to be drawn in comparison.

There are many proofs from the two revelations that invalidates this principle of falsehood.

Allah says:

(والبلد الطيب يخرج نباته بإذن ربه والذي خبث لايخرج إلا نكدا)

“The vegetation of a good land comes forth (easily) by the Permission of its Lord, and that which is bad, brings forth nothing but a little with difficulty” [Surah Al A’raf 7:58].

And He ﷻ says:

(أفنجعل المسلمين كالمجرمين ما لكم كيف تحكمون)

“shall We then treat the (submitting) Muslims like the Mujrimun (criminals)? What is the matter with you? How do you judge? [Surah Al Qalam 35:36]

“So, the mistakes which it’s perpetrators perpetrate while the clarity of the proofs, as well as the stance of the Manhaj of the Salaf, are manifest to the opposition in what they are going towards.

Points to them being stubborn and embarking upon their desires. Which is different to the mistake of a person that’s known for the Sunnah, and aspires the truth in that which is obscure or in affairs which are intricately difficult, whereby if he was to be alerted of the mistake, he would return to the truth.

(فأما الذين في قلوبهم زيغ فيتبعون ما تشابه منه ابتغاء الفتنة وابتغاء تأويله)

“So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah and seeking for its hidden meanings”[Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:7].

So it is incumbent to warn from the people of desires, deviation and Fitnah.

As forsaking the truth and it’s people it is of the most severest type of wrongdoings, and due to it the Prophet ﷺ said:

(لايضرهم من خالفهم ولا من خذلهم)

“They will not be harmed by those who oppose them nor by those that forsake them”

The further addition of forsaking to opposition, while they already enter in to the generality of the opposing in the aforementioned statement.

Clarifies the severity of the harms of forsaking, from amongst the different types of opposition to the people of the truth.
