Question:
A man married a woman from the people of the book and then his wife passed away.
Does he inherit from her or not?
Answer:
He does not inherit from her, due to the hadeeth of ‘Usamah bin Zaid, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
لَا يَرِثُ الْمُسْلِمُ الْكَافِرَ، وَلَا الْكَافِرُ الْمُسْلِمَ
“A Muslim does not inherit from disbeliever, and the disbeliever does not inherit from a Muslim.”
[Bukhari & Muslim]
