Ruling on eating locust without grilling?

Question:

Is it allowed to eat locust without grilling? And are there any benefits to it?

Answer:

As for eating it without grilling then verily they (Sahābah) used to go on battles with the Prophet ﷺ and eat it, as in the Sahih:

غَزَوْنَا مع رَسولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عليه وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ نَأْكُلُ الجَرَادَ

“We fought seven battles with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ eating locusts.”

And there didn’t come any detail that they grilled it or not, and grilling it is better and more tasty but whoever took it from the tree and ate then there is nothing preventing this.

There remains it’s benefits, we read in some books that mentioned it’s conventional benefits but it was weak, there used to come to us locust and we used to eat it, it was good, delicious but in terms of there being conventional benefits they mentioned weak ones, there is no great benefit, but it is from the halāl.
