Criterion of when to stop praying the Rawātib due to travelling

Question:

May Allah preserve you O Shaykh.

Is it from the Sunnah to not pray the daily fixed supererogatory prayers while travelling for more then three nights?

Or is it restricted to three?

Answer:

As long as the word traveller is applicable upon a person; then it’s legislated for him to shorten the prayer, and it’s not legislated to pray the daily fixed supererogatory prayers while travelling, besides that of the two units of Fajr and the Sunnah of Witr, for the Prophet ﷺ didn’t leave neither of them while travelling or while being settled.

And the ‘Allāmah Ibn Bāz, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked regarding the shortening of the prayer, and it being restricted to a certain number of days while travelling.

Replied: “If it was considered to be travelling, then it is for him to shorten the prayer.
The distance of 80km or more.”
[End of speech]

And leaving the daily fixed supererogatory prayers branches out from the establishment of the ruling of shortening the obligatory prayers when travelling.

Whereby if this one is affirmed so does what branches out from it.
