Spreading knowledge through Facebook, Instagram, twitter, etc.

Question:

The questioner says: What’s your advice to those who enter into Facebook on the pretext of spreading knowledge, considering the fact that Facebook is not free of pictures; even that of women, and he argues that some of the scholars have issued a fatwa permitting this?

Answer:

If it’s not possible to enter it unless you are exposed to looking at women, then it is not permissible – it is not permissible to participate in this knowing full well that he will be exposed to looking at pictures of women. Allah the Almighty said:
{قُل لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ یَغُضُّوا۟ مِنۡ أَبۡصَـٰرِهِمۡ وَیَحۡفَظُوا۟ فُرُوجَهُمۡۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ أَزۡكَىٰ لَهُمۡۚ}
“˹O Prophet!˺ Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their chastity. That is purer for them.”
[Surat An-Nur 30]

But if this (exposure to pictures of women) happens very rarely; a picture pops up and he immediately blocks /cancels it out, then it’s ok to use this platform for spreading knowledge. But he must strive against his soul and fear Allah.
