Seeking the Assistance of Allah and the types of People that Seek Allah’s Assistance

Benefit:

“And the proof for seeking the Assistance of Allah is the statement of Allah the Most-High:

{It is You we worship and You we ask for assistance} [Al-Fatihah:5]

and the hadith:

“If you should seek assistance then seek the assistance of Allah”

The Explanation:

The Types of People that Seek Allah’s Assistance:

  1. A worshipper and a seeker of help: He is the one who establishes the Worship of Allah, and ever seeking Allah’s aid in that. And they are the ones that actualize His, the Most-High’s statement:

{It is you we worship and you we ask for assistance.} [Al-Fatihah:5]

And they are in the highest category.
  2. A worshipper but not a seeker of help: He is the one who establishes the Worship of Allah, but negligent in seeking Allah’s assistance. Like the situation of most from the ones that claim to understand. And he is lacking in establishing His, the Most-High’s statement:

    {you we ask for assistance.} [Al-Fatihah:5]

In spite of the fact that they have found the sweetness of worship, they have lost out on the most sweetest of it, which is seeking Allah’s assistance and putting one’s trust in Him.
  3. A seeker of help but not a worshipper: And he is negligent in his worship of Allah, due to the fact that he is busy with innovations and disobedience, thinking that it is worship. So he seeks assistance from Allah upon this. And this is the affair of a lot of the sufis and worshippers.
  4. Not a worshipper nor a seeker of help: He is the one that has left the worship of Allah, believing he is not in need of Allah, even if he seeks Allah’s assistance for his portion of the worldly affairs and his desires. And he is the worst out of them all.
