What’s your advise for those that sell books of the people of innovation, as well as books whose author’s are unknown?
The advise for him, and others who tread this path in da’wah, is to fear Allah in regards to the people generally and specifically regarding the Salafi youth, for directing them to destruction, and misleading them with the books of the people of desires, and directing them to this.
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said:
(لِيَحْمِلُوٓا۟ أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةً يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۙ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ)
“They will bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection, and also of the burdens of those whom they misled without knowledge. Evil indeed is that which they shall bear!”
And in Sahih Muslim, on the authority of Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
(ومن دعا إلى ضلالة كان عليه من الإثم مثل آثام من تبعه لا ينقص ذلك من آثامهم شيئا)
“Whoever calls to misguidance, will have the likes of the sins of those that follow him, without it decreasing any of their sins.”
Furthermore, doing this will open up a door of evil for people; in pointing them towards reading books of the people of innovation and desires, upon the assumption that the good found in it can still be benefited from, like what’s claimed by the people of Hizbiyyah and Tamyee’!
Ahlussunnah have unanimously agreed upon the likes of what has been established by Imām Ibn Sīrīn, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
“Verily this knowledge is religion, so look at he who you take your religion from.”
As found in the introduction of Sahih Muslim with an authentic chain of narration.
And this is the path of Abul-Hassan and his ilk, who strive with watering down the da’wah with the likes of these erroneous understandings, and this is a subterfuge, so that the Salafis go towards Tamyee’ and deviations and fall into the pit of misguidance, and the embraces of the people of bigoted partisanship, so that they can after this, war the methodology of the Salaf and its folk.
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said:
(أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ ٱلَّذِى هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ خَيْرٌ)
“Would you exchange that which is better for that which is lower?”
With Ahlussunnah; from the Salaf the predecessors and the Khalaf the successors, you will find prestine, pure authorings, free from the innovation of the innovators and the deviation of the deviant.
There is sufficiency (we are not in need) to seek the truth from the books of the people of innovation, if we surrendered to the fact that there is any good in them, then even if there was any good in them then still it’s to be taken from the people of the Sunnah.
For this reason when Imām Ibn ‘Utheymīn, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked regarding the tapes of Safar Al-Hawāli, and Salmān Al-‘Awdah, he said:
The good that’s found with them, is found with other than them.
Or with words in this effect, may Allah have mercy upon him.
The speech of the Salaf in warning from the books of the people of innovation is plenty, likewise in looking into them, as well as the order of burning them and destroying them, this has been written down in their books of creed.
The virtuous Shaykh Abu Ibrahīm Muhammed bin Māni’, may Allah preserve him, has a wonderful treatise on this topic, if anyone wanted to revise this.
Imām Ahmed, and others, have reported on the authority of Jābir, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet ﷺ became angry when he saw with ‘Umar a page with some of the Tawrah written on it, and he ﷺ said:
«أفي شك أنت يا ابن الخطاب؟ ألم آت بها بيضاء نقية؟ لو كان أخي موسى حياً ما وسعه إلا اتباعي»
“Are you in doubt, O Son of Khattāb? Didn’t I come with it white, prestine? If my brother Mūsā was alive then he would have no choice but to follow me”
And it’s found in the ‘Silsilah As-Sahīha’ of Imām Al-Albāni, may Allah have mercy upon him.
This was from the eagerness of the Prophet ﷺ for the purity of the truth.
And even though ‘Umar bin Khattāb, may Allah be pleased with him, upon the knowledge and guidance he had and was upon, and even whilst being an Imām in knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah, and having sharpness in understanding, to the level that the Qur’ān was revealed aiding him in many scenarios.
With the fact of all this, the Prophet ﷺ still didn’t say to him: “Take the truth from it, and leave the falsehood”!!!
And his ﷺ statement is legislation, and he ﷺ with this closed of door by to harms, and warded away harms, out of protection and safeguarding the people, safeguarding their religion from falling into falsehood and doubts, for indeed the hearts are weak and doubts are snatching people.
If this was the action of the Prophetﷺ with his second successor, then what do you think is the case with those lesser than him.
There is also a similar narration in Sahīh Al-Bukhari from Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father.
The Salafis are not all scholars who (can pinpoint and) set falsehood aside and take the truth from those books, many of the youth have become afflicted with Tamyee’ through these erroneous claims, and have become mislead by this devious deceptive statement from its callers:
“We will read it, and if we find truth and what’s correct, we accept it, and if we find falsehood we will leave it”❗️
The majority of them can not differentiate between truth and falsehood, due to their weakness in knowledge, the knowledge; which would clarify for them the way of the believers, to becoming firm upon it, and the way of the criminals, to avoiding it.
Whoever was not to have this (capability), and this is the majority of the people, they will come to see the truth as falsehoods and falsehood as truth, and consequently follow innovation and misguidance.
And there is no might and no power except with Allah.
Similarly taking from those that are unknown, those whose conditions are not known, regardless if it was through:
➖Directly taking from them,
➖Listening to their audios,
➖Reading their books.
This opposes the foundation of the call of Ahlussunnah wal-Jamā’ah which all of the people of desires oppose.
The methodology of purity and distinction from every type of foreign intrusion upon the truth.
And the call to taking from those that are unknown, regardless if this call was by way of words, and those that do this are many.
From them is the one named ‘Umar Humrūn Al-Jazā’iri, I have heard an audio from him calling to this wicked call, taking from the books of the people of desires and benefiting what it contains of truth, supposedly!
Let alone his praises of Abu Ishāq Al-Huwayni, the stubborn deviant, and his speaking ill of Shaykh Rabee’, these types of people are must to be warned from, and from sitting in their sittings, he has weekly classes as far as I am aware in a Quranic memorisation school, in Ruwaybah, our advise for those running it is to distance their selves from him, similarly others that are upon his way.
The call of taking from unknown people, regardless if it was calling to do so in words or in actions; like selling people books of the people of innovation and unknown people, is striving to taint the purity of this blessed Salafis call, and a crime upon its foundations.
They are likewise contradicting the methodology of verification, which has been legislated in the religion of Islām, which Allah, the Most High, has commanded:
(يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا إِنْ جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَإٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَنْ تُصِيبُوا قَوْمًا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا عَلَى مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَادِمِينَ)
“O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done.”
And in a narration:
“Establish it (to be true)”
The unknown takes the ruling of the rebellious evil person, in verifying his information.
Due to also (like the evil rebellious person) not having the description of being trustworthy affirmed for him, for this reason Ibn Sīrīn, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
“The people used to not ask about the chain of narration, but when the fitnah took place, they said: “Name for us your men”, then they would look for the people of the Sunnah and take from them, and they would look at the people of innovation and not take from them.”
Reported by Muslim, in the introduction of his ‘Sahīh, with an authentic chain of narration.
And it has come from the leader of the believers in Hadith, the Imām, Shu’bah bin Al-Hajāj, may Allah have mercy upon him, that he said:
“If a narrator narrates to you while you can not see him (i.e dont know him), then don’t narrate from him,, perhaps they are a Shaytān, presenting themselves in their their form saying: I have been narrated, I have been informed, while its contrary to what’s correct.”
As narrated dom him by the author of Tadrīb ar-Rāwi.
And amazingly Lazhar Sunayqirah, may Allah correct him, one of the callers to correction -as they claim- has a website called: Purification and Cultivation!
While he is from those most in need of purifying his methodology from defending deviants like Farkoos, and other affairs, and to purify his bookstore from the poisons of the people of innovation and desires.
And this points to that they do not understand what purification and cultivation really means.
And aid is sought from Allah.
Shaykh Abu Hatim Yusuf Al-‘Inaabi Al-Jazaa’iree – may Allah preserve him.
