“And indeed that which is to be supported and encouraged is beneficial refutations which make the Dīn of Allah clear, and aid the Dīn of Allah, and breaks falsehood and its people.
By Allah this is religion, Imam Ahmed may Allah have mercy on him was asked: “Who is more beloved to you, a man who prays and fasts and performs I’tikāf, and they mentioned from the (numerous) righteous actions, or a man who refutes the people of innovation?”
He said: “The one who refutes the people of innovation is more beloved to me.”
This is for the Muslims, but verily people are in it between negligence and excessiveness and a middle path. So from them are those who refute without experience nor insight, nor (are they) from the people of this field, and this one in his Fatwa, and in his teaching, and in his refutation, and in all his affairs there is exceeding of the limits. Whoever is upon this state is not balanced.
And from them are ones who are negligent in this area, and he sees that there are no (such thing as) knowledge-based refutations, refutations, No!, Khalās, refutations are bad! This is wrong. This means you’re going against the proofs from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in refutations upon falsehood.
Qul Huwa Allāhu Ahad is a refutation, Qul Huwa Allāhu Ahad, Allāhu As-Samad, Lam Yalid, wa Lam Yuwlad,
Ghairil Maghdhūb Alayhim wala Adh-Dhālīn is a refutation. Al-Fātihah includes knowledge-based refutation upon the falsifiers, Al-Walā’a wal Barā’a (Association and Disassociation), and like so the Quran all of it is about Tawhīd and praising Tawhīd, and censuring Shirk, and a refutation upon Shirk and it’s people, and censuring them and clarifying their deviance and misguidance.”
