Can a student of knowledge sell his books with the proof that he is in need?

Question:

Can a student of knowledge sell his books with the proof that he is in need?

Answer:

He makes du’aa to Allah that he doesn’t make him in need of selling his books, as for if the situation calls to that then he sells enough that suffices his need which he sees is more important than books like his treatment or his child’s treatment or his wife’s treatment or the likes of that which it’s a must to, or essential costs and what is of that from things which are a must, it’s allowed.

Its allowed and perhaps Allah will substitute them and make it easy for him books, but a book if it’s made easy for you is considered a treasure, and you may not find it again. The scarcity of books in these times and the shortage of copies, and people sufficing with new social media (technology) and the likes of this, so if a book is made easy for you, try not to loose it from your hands and consider it an attainment.
