The Fabricated Hadith
(5) Al-Mawdhoo’
What’s text is in opposition to the principles (of the religion), and it’s narrator is a well-known liar,
Like: “Al-Arba’een Al-Wa’daaniyah”,
And Like: “Nuskhah Alee Ridhaa” which was fabricated against him.
And it is different levels, from it:
- What they agreed upon that it is lies, and that is known by the admitting of the fabricator, and him being caught for lying, and the likes of that.
And from it:
- What the majority are upon that it is fabricated. And others say: It is a fallen Hadith cast aside, and we don’t encourage calling it fabricated.
And from it:
What the majority are upon of its weakness, and falling, and some are upon that it’s a lie.
And they have many paths in criticism of that and strong understanding which you haven’t.
Their expressions, are similar to that of an expert in distinguishing between real and fake gold and silver, or a jeweler in distinguishing jewels and rubies for their value. So due to their abundance of coming into contact with the words of the Prophet ﷺ ,if there reaches them faulty speech – I mean in opposition to the principles – or exceeding the bounds in Targheeb wa Tarheeb, or virtues, and the chain of narration is dark, or a chain bright like the sun, but in it is a liar or fabricator: So they will rule to this being concocted, and that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ didn’t say it, and their statements become in harmony with one another upon the same thing.
And Our Shaykh Ibn Daqeeq Al-‘Eed: “The admitting of a narrator to fabricating and not accepting it (the Hadith) is not clear cut in that it is fabricated, due to it being possible that he’s lying in his admitting.”
I say: This has in it what is in it (of discrepancy). If we were to open the door to far-fetched possibilities, we would fall into the whisperings of the Shaytaan and hypothetical delusions!
Yes, many of the Hadiths which are described as being fabricated have no evidence of them being fabricated, just as many of the fabricated Hadiths we have no doubt that they are fabricated.
