Chapter: Not to slaughter for Allaah in a place where it is slaughtered for other than Allaah
And the statement of Allaah:
“Never stand you therein. Verily, the mosque whose foundation was laid from the first day on piety is more worthy that you stand therein (to pray). In it are men who love to clean and to purify themselves. And Allah loves those who make themselves clean and pure.” [At-Taubah: 10]
And on the authority of Thaabit bin Dhahhaak may Allaah be pleased with him he said: “A man made an oath to slaughter a camel in Bawaanah, so the Prophet ﷺ asked and said: “Was there an idol from the idols of Jaahiliyyah that used to be worshipped there?” They said: “No.” He said: “Was there an Eid from there Eids there?” They said: “No.” So the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: “Fulfil your oath, for indeed there is no fulfilling of an oath in disobedience to Allaah, nor concerning what the son of Adaam (a person) doesn’t own.” [Reported by Abu Daawud. And its chain is upon the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhaari and Muslim)]
