Sitting with People who has no Good in them is Big Danger or Risk

During Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr at His statement “There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah, or Ma’ruf, or conciliation between mankind” ◾️

By our Shaykh, the ‘Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abū ‘Abdirrahmān Yahya bin ‘Alī Al-Hajūri – may Allāh preserve him

He, may Allāh preserve him, said:

“Sitting with those who have no good in them is perilous, perilous in regards to guidance, perilous in regards to time, perilous in regards to the heart, for verily the doubts have an effect, and the hearts sway.

The hearts sway, and the doubts snatch, so do not put yourself at risk, or your religion, or your heart, under the notion that you have understanding.

For no matter what your understanding is or your insight for verily you do not own your heart.

?? And for this reason the people of knowledge warned from sitting with, conversating with, having private talks with, and addressing those who have no good in them.

?? As comes on the authority of Ibn Abbās, may Allāh be pleased with him, and it is authentically narrated from him:

“Do not sit with the people of desires for verily sitting with them is sickening.”

And he spoke the truth may Allāh be pleased with him, you remain free, and in state of devoting oneself to Allāh and being upon obedience and upon the good which one is upon.

?? So if a person of desires sits with you, before you know it some change will occur whether you know it or not.

Your statements and actions changed, and perhaps you rebuke yourself or someone else rebukes you, so you become like the one who forbids what he uses to command and commands what he uses to forbid as comes in the hadith of Huthaifah may Allāh be pleased with him.”
