Question:
I used to study in Yemen for the duration of 2019 and my mother wanted me to make Hajj in 2020, for this reason I returned to India with my family. However by the decree of Allah I am not able to make Hajj this year 2021 because of the problems caused by the Corona virus. I want to travel to Yemen again to seek knowledge however my mother wants me to make Hajj this year but it is still not certain.
I personally fear for myself and my family by staying here in India from what I see in the difference in our emān in comparison with last year. I am certain that hijrah is the only solution for me to protect my family however Hajj is also obligatory upon me. What should I do?
Answer:
If you’re able to perform Hajj this year then good and well. Wait for your mother and preserve your self and family and occupy yourself with beneficial knowledge, sit with righteous people and contact them so that they can send you sermons and lessons to help you stay firm upon Islam and the Sunnah. Then if this year goes by and you were not able to perform Hajj then as soon as you get the news that you won’t be able to go to Hajj then come back to Yemen because Hajj has become not possible for you. So whenever you get the chance and it is possible again for you to go and make Hajj with your mother and fulfil the obligation that is upon you.
