If we are Prevented from Praying the Eid Prayer in Congregation, how is the Prayer Preformed in the House

Question:

If we are prevented from praying the Eid prayer in congregation then how is the Eid prayer preformed in the house?

Answer:

The prayer in the house is to be preformed just like the prayer (normally) at the musallah (prayer ground). You perform the Eid prayer as the Imaam would normally at the Eid prayer. So if he was to establish the prayer in his home with his wife and children he would preform the extra takbeer of the Eid prayer and recite the prayer out loud. Reciting in the first rakat surah Al-Fatiha and surah Al-Alaa. And in the second rakat surah Al-Fatiha and surah Al-Gaashiyah. Or he may recite in the place of surah Al-Alaa, surah Al-Qaf and in place of surah Al-Gaashiyah, surah Al-Qamar. As both of these are from the Sunnah. As far as whether or not he give a khutbah, then no. The khutbah is only to be preformed when the people are gathered together. As the khutbah is a sunnah for the Eid prayer and it is not obligatory upon the Imaam. So if one was to preform the Eid prayer in his home then it is to be without the khutbah. As to where one should preform the prayer in the home, then it can be established in any room or in ones yard or even on the roof. Wherever he desires. If he prefers the yard because it can hold more people, or on the roof because its elevated and more open. As one wishes

And Allah knows best.
