Allaah created the stars for three (purposes)

…And there came between the Shayaateen and between the news from the sky, i.e after the coming of the Prophet, it was free after the departing of the Prophet, for verily when the Prophet was sent the Jinn used to ease drop, then after him coming forth they couldn’t do it, until they said:

‘And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush.’ [Al-Jinn: 9]

i.e after that i.e the Shaytaan listens and a star is shot, Allaah said:

“And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire.” [Al-Mulk: 5]

▪️ Allaah created the stars for three (purposes):

1 – Missiles for the Shayaateen
2 – Beautification for the sky
3 – And landmarks for the people to be guided by them (at night)

So whoever says other than this has lost his portion and his fortune; Qataadah said it…. the narration

▪️ And the sky was filled with guards, Allaah said:

‘And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires.’ [Al-Jinn: 8]

It was filled with staunch guards, and no Shaytaan could ascend to ease drop, a star would be cast at him and would come to him more severe than a rocket.
