Accusing a Muslim of spying on other Muslims

Question #334:

There are some brothers who accuse some other brothers of spying for intelligence agencies. What is the advice for them?

Answer :

Alleging a person to be a spy of intelligence agencies without any proofs, then this (speech) is from the lies. And it is defaming the honor of a person. And it is wājib that the person who does this repents to Allāh (ʿAzza wa Jalla) from this act and he has to seek pardon from the person.

“O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it” al-Hujurāt : 6
