What do you say (in response to) the American President Trump, who says Yemen is the worst country in the world? This statement has been widely circulated in our country.
Answer:
Yemen is amongst the best countries in the world in terms of its preservation of integrity, islam, customs that do not oppose the law of Allah, female modesty and the spread of the hijaab amongst women.
It has not accepted ‘westernization’ in the way it has been accepted by others. This is the (true) meaning of (why) it is (being labeled) the ‘worst country’. Although it has accepted some aspects, this has not been sufficient for their liking.
The men and women of Yemen have rejected westernization in numerous areas despite it being promoted by money and hypocrites who are aiding them in the spread of that which they wish to use as a means of separation (of the country) and religious abdication (of the people).
{ وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلْيَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْۗ }
And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion
[Al-Baqarah 2:120]
{ وَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُوا۟ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَآءًۖ }
They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike
[An-Nisa’ 4:89]
And Allah has warned us from allying with them.
{ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ ٱلْيَهُودَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰٓ أَوْلِيَآءَۘ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمْ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنْهُمْۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِين }
O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them
[Al-Ma’idah 5:51]
Laa ilaaha ila Allah. What a remarkably powerful verse. How the hypocrites are hastening into alliance and association with them.
{ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِيهِمْ يَقُولُونَ نَخْشَىٰٓ أَن تُصِيبَنَا دَآئِرَةٌۚ فَعَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِٱلْفَتْحِ أَوْ أَمْرٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَيُصْبِحُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَسَرُّوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ نَٰدِمِين }
Hastening into [association with] them, saying, “We are afraid a misfortune may strike us.” But perhaps Allah will bring conquest or a decision from Him, and they will become, over what they have been concealing within themselves, regretful
[Al-Ma’idah 5:52]
He longs for the end of the goodness that is in Yemen. From its ‘da’wah’, ‘tawheed’ and presence of ‘The save sect’ (those who are upon what The Messenger ﷺ and his ﷺ companions were on).
If it were separated like some of the other countries he would have praised it. However, we are sufficed with the praise of The Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We do not need the praise of this criminal who praises in accordance with his own understanding and not the understanding of the religion.
(The Prophet ﷺ said)
{ الإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ وَالْحِكْمَةُ يَمَانِيَةٌ }
Belief is Yemeni and Wisdom is Yemeni
[Narrated by Abu Huraira in Al-Bukhari. Hadith Number 4388]
This is how Yemen is viewed in the religion. A country is praised based upon what it contains of belief, goodness, da’wah and the acceptance of goodness.
(The Prophet ﷺ said)
{ أَتَاكُمْ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ، هُمْ أَرَقُّ أَفْئِدَةً وَأَلْيَنُ قُلُوبًا }
The people of Yemen have come to you. They are the most kind and the most soft hearted people
[Narrated by Abu Huraira in Al-Bukhari. Hadith Number 4388]
This is how the people of Yemen are; kind and soft-hearted, so you find them hastening to and rejoicing at goodness. This is why this man as well as others are inciting the ‘Raafidah’ upon the people of Yemen. They want it to be a ‘raafidi’ country in order for harm to be inflicted upon the people of Yemen.
It is the worst country in world from the perspective of this criminal. However, from a religious perspective, Yemen is the best country in the world at present without contention due to its widespread covering of women, integrity and prominence of the religion. No country rivals Yemen in its affection for foreigners, it’s own people and the religion of Islam.
No country is better than Yemen. Yes, we have our share of misdeeds, but in our time there is no country like Yemen. Therefore the likes of this speech should be disregarded.
Trump is not, and nor is anybody else a judge whose verdicts are rejoiced over. In Yemen, that which passes judgement upon countries is the book of Allah and the sunnah of The Messenger of Allah ﷺ. These are the two judges of people, actions, statements and countries. The book of Allah and Sunnah of The Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Not Trump or anybody else.
And Allah has certainly passed his ruling on countries:
{ وَٱلْبَلَدُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦۖ وَٱلَّذِى خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًۚ }
And the good land – its vegetation emerges by permission of its Lord; but that which is bad – nothing emerges except sparsely, with hardship
[Al-A’raf 7:58]
Your country produces hardship, atrocities and tribulations. The muslim countries contain goodness. Despite what they also contain of sin, Islam is apparent. The athaan, hajj, umrah, etc. Are all prominent. Oh Allah, only to you belongs all praise.
Sins do occur, but it is not permissible to liken the Muslim lands to the lands of the disbelievers, nor to liken the Muslim people to the disbelievers and hypocrites. This is not permissible – (it is) haram to liken the worst of the creation to the best of the creation because Allah has never made them equal – ever.
{ أَفَنَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ كَٱلْمُجْرِمِين }
Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals (disbelievers)?
[Al-Qalam 68:35]
{ مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ }
What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?
[Al-Qalam 68:36]
This is the law of Allah! You are making (by comparison) the Muslims like the criminals (i.e. disbelievers). This is not the law of Allah.
Trump (is not), nor is anybody else the judge of our affairs. The one that judges us is our Lord with his book and our Prophet with his sunnah ﷺ. So do not be bothered with statements like ‘worst country’ and the like of it. All praise belongs to Allah.
